Founder Dr. Amanda Elizabeth Ferguson brings a rare lens to clean beauty — one shaped by decades at the intersection of science, service, and strategy. A PharmD and retired federal pharmacist, Elizabeth spent her career ensuring that what people put in and on their bodies was safe, effective, and accessible. As a decorated Air Force veteran and former Health Legislative Assistant on the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, she worked on the policies shaping how Americans experience healthcare, wellness, and consumer safety.

But the through-line of her journey began earlier, at Howard University — the institution that shaped her worldview and instilled the values of excellence, service, and social responsibility that guide her work today. It was there she came to understand that representation isn't a nice-to-have; it's the foundation on which trust, innovation, and community are built.

Elizabeth built Sankofa Collective™ to be a destination where clean beauty and Black excellence meet — a carefully curated home for the founders, formulations, and rituals that too often go overlooked.
